This is a biography of Dr. William Emerson Ritter, a nineteenth century marine biologist. It’s an interpretive biography, which means that I tell the story of his life in light of his important decisions and the critical events he experienced. I’m interested to tell his story to explore his unique creativity, his untold vision, and unbridled sense of wonder. Hopefully, his life can be instructive for us.
